One of the most notable churches in Jerusalem commemorates the biblical episode when the apostle Peter denied his Master three times, his immediate repentance, and his reconciliation with Christ after the resurrection.

Built on a steep slope, St. Peter’s Church in Gallicantu is located on the eastern slope of Mount Zion.

This church is supposed to have been built on the site of the house of Caiaphas. The route to the church is very picturesque and you can get wonderful photos. However inside, you can walk down the Holy Stairs to the dungeon where Jesus is said to have been during the trial and the night before his crucifixion.

In the image you can see the dungeon. On the right the irons where they handcuffed the detainee.

The place is so small and dark that you barely have room to move.

Thank you and happy night
