The Basilica of the Annunciation is a catholic temple located in the city of Nazareth, in the north of Israel. The church was established in the place where, according to Catholic tradition, the Annunciation took place. The Greek Orthodox Tradition holds that this event occurred when Mary was drawing water from a local spring in Nazareth, and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation was built in that alternate place.

Its imposing structure, crowned by an ornate dome in the shape of a pyramid and covered with copper, consists of two floors. It was built in 1969 on the site of the previous Byzantine and after the era of the church of the Crusaders. The lower floor houses as a relic the Grotto of the Annunciation, flanked by two columns of red granite. Considered by many Christians as the remains of the childhood home of the Virgin Mary

In this Basilica is a gallery with mosaics that represent some of the most important Marian invocations of various countries. Among the Spanish advocations stand out; The Virgin of Candelaria, patroness of the Canaries, the Virgin of Montserrat, patroness of Catalonia, the Virgin of the Desamparados, patroness of Valencia and the Virgin of Guadalupe, patroness of Extremadura.

Thank you, and happy night.
